about embr

the one who stays.

care shows up for an hour a week. embr is what stays for the rest — a small, warm presence for the hours between sessions.

the gap

care happens for an hour.

life happens in the other

167

hours. that’s where relapse lives, where the 2am spiral doesn’t wait for next week’s appointment — and it’s where most tools go quiet.

the embr companion — a small knitted character with a glowing heart, at rest in a warm, dark room

meet the companion

small. warm.
always yours

a knitted little presence with a glowing heart — designed to feel kept, not downloaded.

why embr exists

care happens for an hour. then the week reopens — the cravings, the late nights, the spirals that don’t keep office hours.

the gap most tools miss

wellness apps go generic in exactly those hours. breathe, journal, feel better. it doesn’t hold when the ground is moving.

what embr does instead

embr speaks the same clinical language patients learn in group — so the skills from this morning’s session are still within reach at midnight.

what embr stands on

clinically grounded · always present · deeply human.

clinically grounded

embr speaks in CBT, DBT, MI, and ACT — real, evidence-based skills patients actually learn in group. not generic meditation, not vague affirmations.

always present

here 24/7, right on the phone, judgment-free — for the late nights, the cravings, the spirals that don’t wait for the next session.

deeply human

warm, plain language. no clinical coldness, no scripts that feel canned. embr meets you where you are and stays there with you.

who built it

built by a clinician who runs treatment centers.

embr was created by Cole Dyar, DMFT, LAADC, CEAP: a Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy, a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, working in behavioral health every day. his doctoral research centered on psychosis and crisis management, and it became PSP, the Psychosis Safety Protocol, a certification curriculum now used to train clinical and front-line staff.

he is a CPI nonviolent crisis intervention instructor, and he co-founded and ran a 24-bed residential mental health program, which is where the hours between sessions stopped being an abstraction. the patients who did well were the ones who kept practicing after group ended. the ones who struggled had no one to practice with at 2am.

he builds embr himself. the clinical boundaries inside it, what it will teach, what it refuses to touch, how it hands someone to 988, are his, written into the system rather than added as a disclaimer. the voice is drawn from real practice, not borrowed from a template, and every figure on this site is cited or labeled. what embr will and won’t do.
